Dr. Greenstein completed his undergraduate degree at New York University earning a degree in Economics cum laude. He received his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating with a special distinction in clinical research. After completing his medical internship in New York he began his ophthalmology training at Rutgers University, receiving multiple awards including The Alfonse Cinotti Award in recognition of Academic and Professional excellence and The Lions Eye Research Foundation of New Jersey Annual Research Awards in 2014 and 2015. The medical students at Rutgers also choose Dr. Greenstein as one of the nominee teachers of the Rutgers 2014 Golden Apple Teaching Award.
With his interest in anterior segment surgery and diseases of the cornea he
completed a Cornea, Refractive and External Disease Fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear of the Harvard Medial School. As well as being accepted at Harvard Medical School for fellowship he also was one of only twenty graduating ophthalmology residents across the United States to be awarded the prestigious Heed Ophthalmology Fellow award.
Dr. Greenstein has advanced training in LASIK, PRK, corneal transplantation and complex and premium implant cataract surgery. He has presented at numerous scientific meetings, published more than 10 peer reviewed articles and authored a chapter in a corneal text book. Dr. Greenstein participated in the FDA trial on Cornea Collagen Crosslinking, and has published extensively on this topic.
